Whitstable Museum & Gallery

Whitstable’s fascinating history includes the first steam drawn passenger railway in the world! Whitstable Museum tells the stories of diving, shipbuilding, fishing, an 1830 railway, oysters and the actor Peter Cushing. Four display halls, a garden, shop and new yard make the museum much bigger than it looks from the outside. Keen volunteers make the museum really family-friendly with hands-on activities for children.
